Barefoot in the wild, Tundra is a boot with a good level of water proofing made from our advanced microfibre upper material, freet tundra.

Freet Tundra hiking boot is made of Premium synthetic microfibre, that is breathable, water-resistant, quick-drying, and very easy to maintain. The HillGrip performance outsole with 4 mm deep lugs is very flexible with excellent grip and therefore will provide the most ground feel even in wet and slippery conditions. The Ortholite 3 mm insole provides shock absorption and has excellent ground feel when worn without an insole. Tundra boot is 12 mm higher than Mudee to give a little more protection and weatherproofing. Where to wear: These minimal boots suit well for hiking and casual wear. The inner lining is warm enough for colder conditions.

Or you can compare them with a sizing chart from another brand and work out your size that way. This is not a fool-safe way though, as the volume and material in the upper of the shoe can also make a big difference to the fit so best to use this in conjunction with one of the other sizing methods.

It has now been over three years since I started wearing barefoot shoes. I had read a lot about their ability to help strengthen your foot muscles and overcome foot and posture problems, so when I was offered a free pair of Merrell Lunas I jumped at the chance. I eased into wearing them gradually over the course of a year and essentially only wore them when I was working in the shop, changing into regular walking shoes to get back home. At the time, I had noticed a few outdoor instructors that I know wearing the Freet Mudees , which seemed a more budget-friendly way to test the waters than the equivalent Vivobarefoot boots. So armed with a couple of good recommendations, I tackled the Freet website. Boots were a must for me for the extra weather-proofing and I wanted a more aggressive tread than the Mudees, I would have preferred to try a leather boot like the Ibex but budget constraints led me to the microfibre version.
