Fido vs rogers coverage map
With the upcoming fido vs rogers coverage map release from both Telus and BellI thought it would be interesting to take a look at the network coverage provided by all the carriers in Canada. While company coverage maps are by no means meant to measure actual network coverage, since often times they are not entirely accurate, the maps are the best resource customers and observers have. While the coverage looks quite good overall, the map is not very meaningful on its own.

February I've been a customer of Fido since the beginning and used my phone for work, basically, all over the province, across Canada and down the U. The coverage back then was good! But, over the last year or so, I've had more issues with network coverage just in the greater Vancouver area!! Suddenly, I will drop calls, just driving thru downtown or Burnaby or Richmond or anywhere! I know its not my phone as my iPhone isn't that old and is up to date where IOS is concerned. I've heard other complaints from customers by just talking to people around where I live and they all complain of the same poor network coverage. Either no Wifi or LTE and no bars for signal strength I'm tired of this and may switch providers. I've heard Virgin has better, more consisent network coverage. Anyone else having the same problems? The north shore is worst too. And Bowen Island is beyond ridiculous for no service at the best of times!!!
This happens in Toronto and in Keswick Ontario. FidoAnthonyZ Moderator.

Rogers, Bell and Telus are the 3 network operators that own and operate nationwide telecom networks in Canada. These sibling brands all connect to the same, nationwide network owned and operated by their parent company. Other providers that own and operate their own networks include Freedom Mobile — which has coverage in urban areas across Canada — and regional providers SaskTel in Saskatchewan and Quebecor Videotron in Quebec and Ottawa. Plan prices are actually cheaper in these regions due to the added competition of a 4th provider. Due to this market concentration, there is limited competition, causing Canadian phone plans to be some of the most expensive in the world. While there are providers in Canada see the complete list none are fully independent of the three national networks: Bell, Rogers and Telus. Each tier is targeted at a different different type of customer, but the options in each tier typically provide almost identical plans at almost identical prices with only small differences in features and reward structures. When one lowers its prices or adds additional features, the others are usually quick to follow suit. For example, Koodo was the first to offer Canada-wide plans on July 21, and they were quickly mimicked by their closest competitors.

Search this thread. If 3rd party resellers are limited, it may be due to the deal they arranged rather than a limitation of the Rogers network. They are owned by Bell with the same service but have a much better reputation than Bell. In any event, I've experienced and heard complaints about coverage as well so I'm glad to be off their wireless network. No one here would know if or when this could happen.
