This area of learning content consists of a series of tutorials to walk you through the simulation process for each analysis type in Fusion
FEA software predicts with dependable accuracy how a product will react to mechanical stress and vibration, fatigue, motion, heat, fluid flow and more, so you can make adjustments before making a prototype. Finite element analysis FEA is a computerized method for predicting how a product reacts to real-world forces, vibration, heat, fluid flow, and other physical effects. Finite element analysis shows whether a product will break, wear out, or work the way it was designed. In the product development process, FEA simulation is used to predict what is going to happen when the product is used in its real world application to ensure it achieves whatever tasks that component needs to perform safely and efficiently. Finite element analysis FEA software works by breaking down a real object into a large number thousands to millions of finite elements in the forms of shapes like cubes or tetrahedrons. Mathematical equations help predict the behavior of each element.

Welcome to the Simulation overview. Fusion Simulation is a validation tool that uses finite element analysis FEA to help you understand how a design performs under certain conditions. FEA is a computerized method for predicting how a real world object reacts to forces, heat, vibration, and so on. It shows whether an object will break, wear out, or work the way it was designed. It is called analysis, but in the product design cycle it is used to predict what is going to happen when the product is used. You can use FEA to reduce the need to create physical prototypes and perform destructive tests. For this reason, FEA is considered as a digital prototyping method. Save time-to-manufacture, in the Simulation workspace, as you experiment with virtual design variations or adapt your model to changing design requirements. Use the tools in the Simulation workspace to minimize physical prototyping and destructive testing requirements. The tools in the Fusion Simulation workspace help you to:. Compare the effects of different materials and different conditions such as loads and constraints. Alter the mass and geometry of an object to change its natural vibration frequencies, avoiding the frequencies of operating loads to prevent resonance. The Fusion fundamentals path introduces key Fusion concepts, before showing how to get started with modeling. The path also contains video series on design concepts, working with files and projects, using the Fusion web client, and transitioning from other systems. Highlights the powerful capabilities of Fusion, and introduces key features to help you get the most out of Fusion. Get started with creating basic sketches and constraints, and then learn how to use common solid modeling tools. This video series covers what concepts you need to know before you begin modeling in Fusion. This video series covers how work with files, create projects, and open designs that are created in other CAD systems. This video series covers what you need to know to administer your subscriptions and manage the Fusion web client. If you come from a Mastercam background, this video series goes through Fusion's interface and programming style to get you up and running as quickly as possible. In this video series, you'll learn how to use the basic sketching tools in Fusion. In this video series, you'll learn how to use the basic solid modeling tools in Fusion.

I am currently working on an FEA project that uses human long bone as a material. The mechanical properties of human long bone are anisotropic can be modeled relatively accurately as transversely isotropic. The only available options are isotropic or hyperelastic. Is this simply just a limitation of Fusion , or is there something I am missing. Unfortunately Fusion Sim does not currently support anisotropic materials. We would also need to add a way to specify a per-part material orientation. These are things we are discussing for future enhancements.

The difference today is that the algorithms driving simulation software can perform FEA calculations much faster and can test for multiple force effects simultaneously.
Regarding the FEA solver being used in Fusion Is it the same solver which is also being used in Inventor? Would I get the exact same results in static stress analysis in Fusion as compared to Inventor if I use the same boundary conditions, loading and mesh size?
