If i was to describe fairfield in one word it would be 'potential'. Suprisingly it has one of the largest CBD areas in sydney although it lacks the volume of commercial and retail space you would find in parramatta and chatswood due to lack of corporate investments and major businesses being enticed into the CBD. This is possibly due to lack of ambitious planning from the backwards fairfield city council and the minor ethnic and social economic disadvantages which do affect the suburb and surrounding suburbs! Despite this new developments are taking shape in the cbd with many new high density residential apartments. Although its not as progressive as it could be it has sparked a rejuvernation of the fairfield city center which should please average incomer buyers who want a more cosmopolitian city vibe as the high rise units are quite affordable.
