The episode begins with Erika and her companions just after arriving to the Genkaku Mountains. It is very difficult to travel through the wind and snow, and Erika and Mathieu are not prepared for the weather. Koori offers to sell Guardian a new clothing outfit, the Pride of Hatteras , to keep her warm throughout the journey. After putting on the outfit, Erika has the choice to talk to one of the boys. As everyone is walking, a few things happen, including Koori and Leiftan arguing and one of the boys - the one with the highest L'oM - slowing down to talk to Erika. An avalanche blocks the path of the travellers, and it is decided that Lance will turn into his dragon form to fly the others to their destination. This is not met well with the so called King of the Mountain and his archers, who see this as an act of aggression.
