I love the line "all my friends have gone to find another place to let their hearts collide". I interpret that as him saying everyone around has moved on from the past loves but he's still stuck on this one girl. Also, when he says "as drunk as I have ever been", I get the feeling that he doesn't actually mean he's been drinking. I think he means love drunk. This girl has an amazing effect on him that he has never felt before.
