Earthbound homesick is a status ailment appearing only in EarthBound. Nessthe only playable character who can be affected by it, will become homesick at a random chance after winning a battle. Instant winning does not trigger homesickness.

So, the last time I played through EB I was getting pretty deep in the game I am sure it was the Desert Gold Mine and I had killed 4 of the 5 Guardian Diggers and was pretty beat up by that point and low on items. Pretty carely on my part, sure :p. Then as soon as I got in the final battle with the last mole I got homesick and just got rocked so bad by him. I can't remember all of the other times it's happened but that one stuck out as being the most inconvenient at the time! Who else here has neglected to call your Mom and ended up paying for it? Anyone here have a habit for making calls to ensure you don't get homesick?
