We had the Prime Rib which was delicious and cooked perfectly and the waitress was amazing. The only drawback to an otherwise lovely evening was that we were a little under the upper deck where someone spilled a drink and it splashed us as it rained down from the above. Dukes comped our drinks which was nice but an unfortunate occurrence on our last night in Honolulu. I would definitely return though. I much preferred Dukes to the Hula Grill in the same location. We struggled our first couple nights in Honolulu finding just good 'ol American food, but went here as the reviews were generally positive. You will find the wait to be long at the dinner hour as this place is right at the center of Waikiki in the back of a hotel. I splurged and ordered the prime rib buffet on a Thursday night, but would probably not have done that again. It was expensive and many of the buffet items were not that good. It's just an average place if you are from a large city at home. Location, drinks and variety of food keep people coming back here. Don't be dissuaded by the long wait; the host stand exaggerates the wait time not sure why restaurants do this. They don't take reservations and also you can possibly find a table right away at the bar. The walls are decorated with photos and memorabilia of the "Duke", king of surfing in Honolulu.

I had the Huli Huli Chicken and it was incredible, as was the coconut shrimp. The best part of the experience would have to be the service, however. Our server, Vim, sorry if I butchered that spelling was one of the friendliest dudes I have ever met.
