Including its most recent addition, Pokemon has a massive 18 types to classify different Pokemon. Because Pokemon can have two types at once, there are different unique combinations.
There are currently monsters in the Pokemon Pokedex, each with a specific type that gives it certain advantages and disadvantages in battle. The way they work is pretty straightforward; Fire is strong against Grass, Water is weak against Grass, and so forth. But things become more complicated when Pokemon with dual types get matched up against one another. As it stands, 18 different types can be combined in Pokemon , which makes Pokemon battles significantly more complicated and technical than meets the eye. There are a few dual-type Pokemon that stand above the rest, not only in terms of their unique typing, but also in terms of Super Effective attacks, same-type attack bonuses, and overall stats. These types largely determine what types of moves a monster will learn, in addition to what elements they're most affected by. Adding a second element into the mix can make things even more interesting. It expands their skillset and allows them to have super effective abilities on a larger range of opponents. This infusion of multiple element types wasn't quite as commonplace when we trace things back to the original of Generation 1. Still, there are a number of awesome dual-type beasts that can prove effective in battle, thanks to their sheer power and array of skills.
But what type combo is the best? Plus its mega evolution is a defensive powerhouse with defense and special defense. However, both of them are usually handled with a taunt of your own, or any strong neutral attack against them. This is because of an increased number of resistances to opposing attacks, as well as an additional type of move that benefits from a Same Type Attack Bonus. This dual-typing has an unfortunate extreme vulnerability to Grass moves, but aside from this, it is an excellent type combination. One of Water's two weaknesses, Electric, becomes completely ineffective as a result of the Ground-type. The Psychic-type, one of Poison's weaknesses, is completely nullified by Dark. Poison also neutralizes the super-effective damage that would usually be done to Dark by Fighting, Bug, and Fairy. This leaves the dual-typing only vulnerable to Ground. Although the Poison-type does not have an excess of powerful moves, Dark is rather powerful on the attacking front. The dual-typing definitely has its place in the meta, even if it is not often utilized. Only weak to Ground and Fire, this combination resists a large portion of the attacks in the series.

Originally a pure Ground type, the Gen 1 Sandshrew, and Sandslash received an Alolan form, where they got the cold treatment.
