Armor in Dragon's Dogma provides defensive properties and protects the Arisen and Pawns. Armor is divided into five main categories based on the slots they can be equipped in: Head, Torso, Arm, and Leg Armor, and Cloaks. Outfits are armor sets that take up all armor slots except for the Cloak slot. There are a total of individual pieces of armor 87 head pieces, torso pieces, 67 arm pieces, leg pieces, 39 cloaks, and 19 full-sets. Armor can be obtained as quest rewards, purchased at a Merchant , found in chests around the world, or dropped by bosses. Many, but not all, armor pieces and sets in Dragons Dogma are locked behind certain vocations. While you would have to check these restrictions individually for each armor set, there is a general rule of thumb you can follow:.

I'm level 25 Sorcerer I keep checking the shop in gran soren but they never seem to get new gear and I'm not getting anything from loot drops when walking around the world. When it comes to gear upgrading it tends to be the best way to go. Most of the good stuff only drops post game. Bitterblack isle has the best gear, but I wouldn't attempt it until you are level 30 at least. You won't be able to go in too far, but you can get a few cursed pieces if you know where to look. Most the time gear isn't affecting you as much as you think.
