Armor in Dragon's Dogma provides defensive properties and protects the Arisen and Pawns. Armor is divided into five main categories based on the slots they can be equipped in: Head, Torso, Arm, and Leg Armor, and Cloaks. Outfits are armor sets that take up all armor slots except for the Cloak slot. There are a total of individual pieces of armor 87 head pieces, torso pieces, 67 arm pieces, leg pieces, 39 cloaks, and 19 full-sets. Armor can be obtained as quest rewards, purchased at a Merchant , found in chests around the world, or dropped by bosses. Many, but not all, armor pieces and sets in Dragons Dogma are locked behind certain vocations. Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen introduced a final way to upgrade equipment after Dragonforging - Rarifying.
