Doom map secrets

In this reboot of the demon-slaying series, id has taken careful precautions to give the players everything they want, including a ton of hidden secrets and collectibles to look for as they make their way across the mars installation of the UAC in an attempt to save the universe from Hell's unforgiving forces.
Doom map secrets
At the start, there is a Health Bonus to the left and right of you. Go straight and enter the room to the left, and beware the 4 Shotgun Guys on skill levels 4 and 5. Take their shotguns, including the Security Armor, health and armor potions too. When you are done, leave the room, and head left into the opening, and go through the door. Kill the 3 Zombiemen in this room, and watch out for the 4 Shotgun Guys on skill levels 4 and 5 a 5th one might even come from the next room so be aware. When this room is empty, collect all the items and ammo here, and go through the opening at the east part of the room. Kill the Zombieman at the stairs, and collect the 2 Health Bonuses, and go down the stairs. Kill the 3 Shotgun Guys and 2 Zombiemen here, including the 2 Imps on the platform. Get past the zigzag floor to the other side of the room. Before you open the door, check the walls to the right until you find a secret area. In here, go down the stairs and kill the 2 Shotgun Guys on skill levels 4 and 5, and collect the ammo and health here. Go outside and collect the Mega Armor, and go back to the zigzag room, and now go through the door. Kill the Shotgun Guy, the Imp, and 4 Zombiemen here, and get the health, and go to the exit door. But before you go into the exit room, go back to the zigzag room again. Remember that platform that had the Imp s on it?

I'm very curious to see what the community's players and designers think about secret maps, so here are few questions to guide the discussion:. How rigorously do you try to hide them? What existing secret maps, if any, have inspired you or informed your own work in some way? If so, what do you like to see in secret levels? After dropping down to the lowest area in the opening section, spot the secret door then look for a hidden switch on the right to the side of a storage tank. Pull it then move forward through the now open doorway to unlock Doom II - Entryway. Once you've opened the Maintenance Bay door and dropped down, find the secret door then go up the stairs to your left and climb up onto the crane. Go past the armour pick up and climb up to the next area to pull the switch, then go through the doorway below to unlock Doom - Hangar.

It's that it's frankly been a long time since we had a straight-up, old-school first-person shooter campaign with this much meat on its bones. As a player, I love to look for secret maps. The first one was so mind blowing and nerdgasm inducing that it completely changed my view on secret maps and now i absolutely want to find them as i don't want to miss that chance to accidentally find that next truly different and mind blowing map. Yeah, once you know, you can skip it, but then it feels like you're missing content, since a level is But for those who find such difficult maps outside their skill range, it makes finding the secret not feel like a reward, but a punishment. Our current event's secret levels are following a pretty cool gimmick.
