Diving board replacement ideas

We recently broke our diving board base. It is an old board whose company is now out of business jacuzzi fibreking. It consists of the 6' board, and the base which is made up of two u-shaped metal brackets and one rubber strip which sits on top of them in the front perpendicularly. It is one of these brackets which has broken along with the rubber strip. I have tried in earnest to find a replacement base but it seems impossible! Pool centers tell me there is no such thing as a second-hand board, and online there seem to be only a handful of manufacturers offering parts which are expensive anyway. Other than buying a brand new board or a second-hand one privately via kijiji or craigslist or whatnot does anyone have any ideas on how to get jumping again? Is there some hidden gem of old diving board parts online, or should I see about getting the part remade from a metal worker?
