This would continue in , where the team placed 2nd in both Spring and Summer , failing to qualify for any international event. They managed to win the Summer Season with a finals victory against Unsold Stuff Gaming , securing a slot in the Worlds Play-ins , where they were eliminated by EDward Gaming in the second play-in stage.

The team qualified for the League of Legends World Championship in , , , and During the World Championship, DetonatioN FocusMe placed first in their play-in group and automatically qualified for the group stage of the main event. This marked the first time an LJL team had advanced to the main event of an international tournament. The organization's League of Legends division began as an unsponsored amateur team named FocusMe, competing independently until it was acquired and renamed by DetonatioN Gaming. On 23 January , DetonatioN FocusMe became Japan's first full-time professional League of Legends team by introducing salaries and a gaming house as living accommodation, something other organizations in Japan had previously avoided due to the country's stigma on professional gaming. The team only managed to secure a single victory over Kaos Latin Gamers in the group stage, ending with a 1—5 record and placing 6th out of seven teams. DetonatioN FocusMe took surprising victories over Australian team Chiefs Esports Club and Thai team Bangkok Titans on the first day of competition, but later lost all their remaining games on the second day and ultimately placed last. LJL powerhouse DetonatioN FocusMe has been through a rough patch — will they be among the first teams to get knocked out? Even though the LJL is one of the smaller leagues of the competitive scene, DetonatioN FocusMe is one of the most well-known team in the world. This is due to the fact that DFM has won 16 LJL titles, won 10 out of the last 11 championships, and are currently on a 6-cup streak in winning the Japanese tournament. They are one of the most decorated team of professional League of Legends, and the most decorated one at Worlds.
After four years competing on the global stage, with multiple representatives, including DFM themselves returning on various occasions, the LJL started in the Play-In Stage in , to to qualify for Groups. In Group B, the only game they dropped was against Cloud9 on Day 1. Tied , both Cloud9 and DetonatioN FocusMe were forced to play a tiebreaker to determine which team clinches first place and go straight into Groups, and which team would be competing in the best-of-five Play-In Knockout Stage. In the early game, DetonatioN FocusMe traded kills for objectives. As such, Cloud9 were the ones to secure the first two dragons, keeping the gold tight between both teams. Baiting in three Cloud9 members into the bush, a last second Haymaker demolished their health bars, resulting in two kills for the LJL reps. DFM headed straight to round 2 of the playoffs, where they swept Softbank Hawks In the finals, they swept Sengoku Gaming to secure the championship and the single ticket to MSI DFM will begin their MSI journey in the play-in stage, where they will have to compete against seven different teams for three tickets to the bracket stage.
