The Fraser Valley Regional District is asking residents and visitors to avoid the Davis Lake area due to a davis lake fire update, out-of-control wildfire burning on a mountainside east of Mission, B. The Davis Lake wildfire, now a highly-visible wildfire of note, is burning in a remote area on the forested slope less than a kilometre north of Davis Lake Provincial Park, 18 kilometres north of Abbotsford. The BC Wildfire Service is actively engaged in wildfire containment activities in the area and we ask the public to avoid the area.
Firefighters from Coastal Fire Centre remain on scene, with 11 personnel responding as of Wednesday morning. According to BCWS, crews continue to make good progress and are working to establish a 25 to foot blackline along the northeast flank of the fire.
