The book starwars. To me it justified a lot of the problems the prequels had by fleshing them out and giving them great explanations. It is very unfortunate that the story is part of Legends instead of canon, however, a lot of it has indeed made it back into canon thanks to people like the original author starwars. Like my Darth Bane Trilogy post, I will do this by listing things from the novel that have been made canon. A lot of this information came from starwars. It's clear that he wanted his magnum opus to be as canon as possible, and I'm glad he did this. I've no doubt that more things like him being a Muun will be canon again, but we'll just have to wait and see. As many of you know, I consider Legends to be literally legends within Canon. And by having them as legends, it adds an extra dimension of mystery to their history. We know that some elements of those stories had first hand support from starwars. And I hope we never really find out what those things actually were. To get back onto the 'mystery' element that I'm referring to It's no different than the mystery of the starwars. It exists and we know some things about it.

The Palpatine of the original trilogy was a master manipulator and always knew with sickening accuracy exactly where to jab. This announcement came following a darth plagueis book database leak, which the fan site New Jedi Order Encyclopedia published.

In Darth Plagueis , those questions are finally answered. For fans interested in learning more about the Sith and their intricate Grand Plan to bring down the Republic and the Jedi, Darth Plagueis adds some intriguing and disturbing depth to the backstory of the Prequel Trilogy. The front cover art sets the tone for the book: a younger Palpatine kneeling in subservience to the looming visage of an alien. Unlike the movies, or the Expanded Universe books and comics before now, this is not a tale of Darth Sidious as puppetmaster pulling the strings of galactic events or terrifying autocrat. Instead, we see the first real glimpses of Palpatine as a pupil or cautious low-level politician — someone who is even, on occasion, vulnerable. At the same time the seeds of the machinations and domination to come are thoroughly sown, and the diabolical personage we associate with Palpatine is very much in evidence. Luceno writes Darth Plagueis in the same clear, direct style of his previous Star Wars novels.

As Sidious and Plagueis promptly proceed to eliminate their political opponents, Plagueis is attacked during an Order of the Canted Circle ceremony for his assistant Larsh Hill by Maladian assassins. So I expected so much from it and, ultimately, all my expectations were shattered. Pretty much everyone who knows me knows I like Star Wars , but what some of them may be surprised to hear is that The Phantom Menace was pretty much my introduction to George Lucas' space opera. This is an excellent book for the discerning Star Wars fan. And I suspect they never will. The movies are so visually spectacular and I don't think that feeling could ever be reproduced in a book. And I hope we never really find out what those things actually were. Daniel Davis does well with different voices, but I found him to be just ok with everything else. But the biggest part in Darth Sidious's plan is young Anakin Skywalker, now a Padawan to Obi-Wan Kenobi , who the Sith sees will be easily manipulated into becoming his true apprentice, and a harbinger of Palpatine's own power. Tapalo will open Naboo to trade, particularly for the plasma, which will then allow it to get involved with the rest of the galaxy. Much of the draw towards these characters, for fans, is not so much the intimidation of them which quickly wears off with familiarity , but the question of their motivations and just how it is they stick to the life they do.

I could say for a fact that whenever I spotted a reference, even a minuscule one, I would get all jittery with excitement. I was pleased how James Luceno made it plausible that Palpatine that Palpatine could come from Naboo Palpatine is discovered by Plagueis--in his non-Sith capacity as an influential Munn financial wizard--while Plagueis is trying to manipulate the monarchy of Naboo to secure their plasma resources. In that respect, Darth Plagueis offers nothing new. The Sith had a point--the Republic was corrupt and deeply flawed and the Jedi were no longer in tune with the Force. I understand that some talking with George Lucas, Lucasfilms' people, etc He promptly identifies the Force-users who pose a threat to him - an Iktotchi , a Shi'ido and a Nautolan - and eliminates them. When you say that Luceno wanted as much of his EU novel to become canon, I would also argue that starwars. And taking in account that the author didn't invent "Palpatine" name, it was quite weak not trying to add some of value to the character's name. He continued by saying that Hego Damask was who transformed the Trade Federation, however, Damask interrupted him and told him that it wasn't the right time to mention a controversial organization.
