A Daemon Prince is a Human Champion of Chaos who has been elevated to daemonhood as a reward for their actions on the behalf of one of the major Chaos Gods or by the will of Chaos Undivided. Daemon Princes have chosen to trade their Humanity for the god-like power and immortality of a creature of the Warp. A Daemon Prince is a living extension of the force of Chaos. To ascend to the rank of Daemon Prince is the ultimate goal of the most powerful Champions of Chaos , as it gives them immortality and power beyond the reckoning of mortals. For the devotees of the Ruinous Powers , this is far from an impossible goal. Those few who climb the path of the Champion to its apex are granted the prize of eternal life. Though thousands of lesser aspirants will fall by the wayside, a supremely talented devotee will clamber over mountains of the slain until they reach the pinnacle of their bloody craft. Over the course of Terran centuries, such Champions offer up sacrifices on a planetary scale, risking death and mutation in the hope of attracting the gaze of the Dark Gods. And yet murder alone is not enough. Only those who further the causes of their infernal masters are given the precious gift of daemonhood. They are raised up to become demigods, roaring their triumph into the night as their new bodies swell and bulge with the energies of the Warp. Daemon Princes combine the brute strength of Daemons with the combat skill and tactical acumen of Space Marines. However, if the Champion fails in the eyes of their god, their lives and ambitions end as they are cast aside and instead descend into the mutant state of a Chaos Spawn. Since Daemon Princes have been transformed into semi-autonomous extensions of the Chaos God they serve or of Chaos Undivided, they are now entities of the Warp and can never truly be killed in the material universe, only banished into the Immaterium for a specific or arbitrary amount of time, usually 1, standard years.

A Daemon Prince of Tzeentch. A Daemon Prince of Tzeentch is a former mortal or Heretic Astartes servant of the Chaos God Tzeentch who has accomplished so much for the Lord of Change that he or she has been transformed into an immortal Daemon Prince. For a sorcerer of the Thousand Sons Legion , the apotheosis of their service to the Grand Conspirator is to gain immortality as a Daemon Prince. The last fragment of their mortal soul -- already warped by centuries of sadistic manipulation done unto others -- is plunged into swirling darkness, never to return. Their flesh is riven with Chaos energy, their body growing to enormous proportions to accommodate a massive surge of raw empyric matter. Muscles bulge along elongated limbs, and hands twist into many-taloned claws that drip with magic. Much of their armour and weaponry is absorbed into their new form. The Tzeentchian runes and icons bedecking their wargear become embedded in sinew, where they pulsate with bestial vigour. Their metamorphosis renders the Daemon Prince completely unrecognisable from the living creature it once was. Its skin takes on colours more pleasing to the Changer of the Ways, growing intensely bright, terrifyingly dark, or taking on variegated hues in fluctuating configurations.

Chaos Daemons , or simply Daemons pronounced DEE-mahns , also known as a " Neverborn " amongst the forces of Chaos , are intelligent and usually malevolent entities of the Warp comprised of purely psychic energy. Daemons are both sentient and self-aware embodiments of Chaos and collectively the greatest servants of the Chaos Gods and of Chaos itself as a universal force. Daemons are created at the whim of one of the four major Chaos Gods from a fraction of the god's own power within the Immaterium and act as an extension of its will. A Daemon's appearance and intrinsic character reflect the god's own nature. These Daemons may be reabsorbed into the god's psychic signature in the Warp at their whim. The Chaos Gods are not alone in Warpspace. They have created servants from their own essences -- the creatures that mortals have named "Daemons" based on their ancient legends and religious mythologies -- who are not so closely bound to the Warp. Daemons are entities of a somewhat different nature to their masters, and are the most numerous of the creatures to be found in the Empyrean. A Daemon is "born" when a Chaos God expends a portion of its own power to create a separate being. This psychic power binds a collection of senses, thoughts and purposes together, creating a separate but closely related personality and consciousness that can move within the Warp.

Each limb is parts before the hands and feet often another parts and even the most seemingly simple part of the model can take a while just to clip, clean, and glue together.
Tell them their hopes and pride have come to nothing, Tell them their empty whispers fall upon deaf ears their gods are dead, human reason has killed them, Tell them the Angels of Death have come, Tell them nothing can save them now.

Many mortal followers of the Chaos Gods have wrought terrible deeds in the name of their masters. Few who strive for this prize actually claim it. Searching for the specific bit I needed definitely contributed to the construction time on this miniature, as pieces are typically laid out next to each other on kits not quite so packed as this one. Daemon Prince WIP. A follower of the brutish Khorne, for instance, must slaughter in the Blood God's name, reaping skulls and draining blood until his god takes note. Failure is as well, for Chaos Spawndom or worse is always a possible punishment for disappointing Slaanesh, even for a mighty Daemon Prince. Billions of adherents commit foul acts of devotion to their dark lords every day. Service to the capricious Blood God is fraught with constant hazards. Even with the mass of the wings on this model, his pose was still open enough that getting to most of the nooks and crannies was an easy process, and the efforts of construction paid off as no details were vague or otherwise unclear.
