IT Services creates a D2L course site for every class section. Instructors may wish to combine multiple D2L course sites into one. A merged course site — known as a D2L Course Combine — can simplify course management. Or a combined course site helps facilitate student discussion across class sections. When a D2L Course Combine occurs, all instructors and students enrolled in the multiple course sites move to one parent course site within D2L. Instructors then have one D2L course site to manage instead of several. This also means that all students in the combined course get the same gradebook and grade setup.

What's D2L? D2L Desire2Learn — also known as Brightspace — is a web-based tool to support online education. Each course at Marquette has its own D2L course site. Students use D2L for interactive communication, secure submission of assignments to instructors, and online quizzes. Please enable Javascript to access the portal. Visit the D2L system check and correct any issues found. Try logging into D2L with a different web browser e.

Scroll down the D2L home page to find the My Courses widget organized by term. Select a course from the My Courses widget and hover over the ellipsis to select Pin. To unpin, select the Pin icon again. A course can be pinned under the course selector waffle. Under the course selector, select the pushpin icon selected next to the name of the course and deselect the pushpin icon to unpin a course. It is suggested to not customize the navbar so students receive a consistent layout from course to course.

Midterm grades are assigned mid-way through the fall and spring term, as per the deadline in the University Academic Calendar.
