I love this. You touch so much on what I cullen rutherford, with far less cursing and your absolute beautiful way with words. Cullen is such a tragic story, all of him.
Cullen Stanton Rutherford born in approximately Dragon [6] [7] is a Fereldan templar. In Dragon Age: Inquisition , Cullen acts as the Inquisitor 's military adviser, and is a romance option for either human or elven female Inquisitors. Born in the Fereldan village of Honnleath , Cullen was the second eldest child of four. He was eight years old when he told his brother and sisters that he would become a Templar. Though his siblings took the proclamation playfully, Cullen's intentions did not waver. He started visiting the local chantry in Honnleath, asking the templars there to teach him anything they could.

Shy, unsure of himself and haunted by events from his past, Cullen Rutherford remains a powerful force within BioWare's Dragon Age franchise. Originally introduced in Dragon Age: Origins , Cullen was a templar at Kinloch Hold when Uldred and his fellow mages unleashed demons upon the Ferelden Circle of Magi, and he never quite recovered from those events. After being transferred to the Kirkwall Circle of Magi in hopes of a fresh start after the Blight, the things Cullen saw and endured in Kirkwall left a bad taste for templar life in his mouth. He stepped away from his role to join the Inquisition. Cullen decided at a very young age that he wanted to become a templar to help people. He began spending time at the local Chantry in Honnleath where his family lived, and asked the templars there to teach him. He took to their unofficial training, and by the time he was 13, Cullen was granted the opportunity to enter into the Chantry and begin formal training as a templar. At 18, Cullen dedicated himself to a life of service to the Maker. He took his vows and began the templar regimen of taking lyrium on a regular basis so he could exert control over the mages who would become his charges when he was assigned to the Ferelden Circle of Magi at Kinloch Hold. In Origins , if the player character chooses the mage origin story, they encounter Cullen early, as he's in attendance at their harrowing. If the player is an elven or human female, it quickly becomes apparent that, despite his vows and the taboo of templars entering into romantic relations with their charges, Cullen has a crush on the mage. Later, when the player returns as a Grey Warden to help clear the Circle of Demons, they'll discover Cullen is imprisoned. The demons have tormented him mercilessly, appearing to him as the female mage he has feelings for. Upon approach, he truly believes the player is another demon preying upon his desires. The events at Kinloch Hold negatively impact Cullen's mental and emotional state, and though the Origins endgame credit sequence offers a variety of outcomes for his future, he eventually finds himself crossing the sea to the Kirkwall Chantry.
While not the youngest nor the most prepared of recruits, cullen rutherford, Cullen found that the training was everything that he had imagined it would be and quickly caught up to his peers, matching their expertise. Don't ask.
The thought of losing you I can't. During the course of the main 3 Dragon Age games Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2, and Dragon Age: Inquisition we see his character go through a lot of development due to his heart breaking story and, depending on the choices we chose to make in Inquisition, he either recovers from the tragedies he faces, or falls to them. During the first game in the series, we come across Cullen serving his Templar duty in the Circle of Ferelden, a place where Mages are sent to learn about their magical ability, to practise in safety, but also a place where they're never able to see the light of day again. Due to a demon possession in the tower, some of the mages tried to break Cullen mentally.
Dragon Age: Inquisition released in and introduced players to an incredible open-world, brilliant new characters, a plot filled with twists and turns, and more. Fans of the Dragon Age franchise are waiting in anticipation for the next installment, Dragon Age 4 , and in the mean-time, many are replaying their old favorites to get their Thedas fix. One of the main story characters of Inquisition is Cullen Rutherford, Commander of the Inquisition, one of three advisors to the Inquisitor and a possible love interest too. While players might have spent their fair amount of time with the dashing commander in the game, there may be a thing or two about him that they weren't aware of. Even if they've played the entire Dragon Age series , many fans are surprised to hear that Inquisition wasn't the first game that Cullen appeared in. He actually first appeared in Dragon Age: Origins in a small role as one of the templars assigned to execute the Magi if they turn into abominations. Players can attempt to romance him, but he will make some awkward excuses and run away.

Dragon Age 4 is one of the most hyped games that won't come out for a long time much like the next Elder Scrolls entry. While fans can get by with rumors of a Mass Effect trilogy remaster, many are left to theory craft about previous characters. This isn't limited to what the plot of the next game might be or who the player character might be. Rather, fans are looking toward people and pieces from previous games that have gaps of information to fill. One such character, both beloved and despised by fans, is Cullen Rutherford. A native of Honnleath in Ferelden, he knew he wanted to be a Templar from age eight. That led him to eventually join the Inquisition at the behest of Seeker Cassandra Pentaghast.

During the first game in the series, we come across Cullen serving his Templar duty in the Circle of Ferelden, a place where Mages are sent to learn about their magical ability, to practise in safety, but also a place where they're never able to see the light of day again. When the party reaches him, he's tearing through the enemy forces like a man possessed. And according to her, that was after she'd already called in a significant amount of favors to cut through half of the red tape. Get cocky, and she'll take your clothes as a bonus. If the Warden was a female mage, Cullen can be mentioned by gossiping mages at the Tower. Later on in the game, we get to see a side of him, and the Templars, we don't see in the other games. She gets as far as "If you have to-" before he cuts her off. Talk About the Weather : When the female Inquisitor romancing him asks to speak privately and kickstart the relationship, they go outside and he does exactly this, Hand Behind Head and all. Just Following Orders : As Knight-Captain, he has more authority in Kirkwall than most of his fellows; however, he's still subservient to the increasingly insane Meredith, and he's still quite a young man he was born in the same year as the Hawke twins, who are 19 when the game begins. One of the War Table missions involves arranging a political marriage between two young nobles even though the girl is in love with someone else. Earn Your Happy Ending : After suffering through the events of the first two games, if Cullen stays off of lyrium , he earns a Belated Happy Ending that he seems to consider having been worth the wait - especially if he's romanced. It was explained by the Bioware team at PAX South in that the reason Cullen is wearing his helmet during the trailer was that his character model had a glitch where the lip sync wouldn't work for his mouth, and so the helmet was to cover this.

Deadpan Snarker : She has a very dry sense of humor at times, like when a Trevelyan Inquisitor says at Haven that it's nice to have leagues of ice between them and their enemies; she warns that Chancellor Roderick is still around. The World of Thedas books show that among the Kirkwall Circle mages, it was understood that there was no danger of Cullen hurting them or forcing himself on them, which put him much higher in their estimation than many other Templars. Deadpan Snarker : Getting out of the Templars seems to have brought this out of him. For more information about her, see this page. He admits that it has been discussed among the templars, but that there are no plans to go through with it. When Cassandra Pentaghast comes to Kirkwall on the Divine's orders to assess the situation and potentially recruit Hawke, her respect for Cullen's fortitude prompts her to recruit him into the Inquisition as its military commander. Break the Cutie : Cullen in the Mage Origin is friendly and has pleasant manners; he's only in his late teens and still boyishly shy. Templars get their powers to repel magic used to protect themselves against mages in their Circles as well as to stop Mages from harming themselves and others through Lyrium, a magical, addictive mineral. His scars are indicators of his experience in battle but do little to detract from his appearance. He can also be romanced by female elf Inquisitors, but for them he's the second possibility, as they meet Solas first. Percussive Therapy : Throws daggers at a training dummy after learning what Samson allowed to happen to the Templars he led. Insecure Love Interest : This can be a factor with a female mage Inquisitor who romances him, since he was a Templar. Subscribe to: Post Comments Atom. The Comically Serious : Most of his comedy that isn't snark comes from him taking himself too seriously.
