Cruising lugo
Lugo makes a 7 hour excursion, but it looks to me perhaps more interesting than Coruna? I'd prefer a shorter day, but not if Coruna isn't cruising lugo to see.
The entire circuit survives intact and is the finest example of late Roman fortifications in western Europe. Depart the pier for a scenic minute drive to Lugo , is the only European city surrounded by Roman walls that are still completely intact. With a perimeter of over one mile and a height of over 25ft, the walls still contain 71 of the 85 original towers and 10 entrance gates, the walls are a testimony to the prosperous history of a city that was once the hub of a gold rich region. Inside the walls, you will find St. Next, the Gothic Church of Saint Francis.
