Could not create output file delphi

It was all working fine and I compiled and ran my project for about 3 weeks - ie at least a compiles and run from the IDE. Now - all I get is the above message and the project refuses to compile despite no errors being reported.

After several tests with a program under development which seemed to work quite well, I suddenly got an error message F which says: Could not create output file. There are no other error messages from the compiler, except some irrelevant hints such as: variable The problem is, the program was started and running correctly a short time before, and since then I did not change anything in the code. Have you checked if an instance of the output app is still running? Does the problem persist if you restart the IDE? My program seems to have a problem, perhaps with a file which is opened but not closed or a loop running continuosly? The first time I start the IDE and run my program in debug mode , it starts normally, but terminates with an error access violation at address

Could not create output file delphi

All of a sudden yesterday afternoon , I have been unable to compile any applications I have written. I get the following error message: [dcc32 Fatal Error] F Could not create output file This is on a 2-month-old computer running Windows 11 Pro. So I'm sticking with The executable is not show in the Task Manager or in Process Explorer, but it was running Sometimes you can delete it from disk, but pressing F5 will see it reappear. Other times, as you reported, you can't erase it. At that time, not being able to understand what was happening, I inserted an "exitprocess" in the "destroy" event of the main Form and that solved the problem. Then subsequently starting to remove the "exitprocess" I no longer had any problems. But I can't tell you if it depended on the Delphi version or the operating system. However, if I remember correctly from "Process Explorer" you can do a search with the name of the executable and it should find it for you use "Find Handle and DLL" from the menu. I tried searching for the executable in Process Explorer several times but it couldn't find it. I will try the "exitprocess" but what I don't understand why it suddenly started happening, but only with the Delphi Yes, it is half of the problem in your case, here you didn't mention who is the owner of the EXE and the owner of the parent folder, both these values plays role,. Is this file in a location that is mirrored with a cloud service OneDrive, DropBox, etc?

I can keep recompiling and all is well but as soon as I run the program subsequent compiles fails with F error.

I'll go check the permissions again. The only way to clear the lock is to reboot. The behavior is expected if your code is hung, the IDE does not actually clean up the process. So I use that. Edited February 1 by RockWallaby. Search In. Kas Ob. Used LockHunter to find out what is locking the executable - it reports nothing is locking it. When I discovered my mistake I slapped myself in the forehead and fixed the problem. It is antivirus. It seems to me that the problem with error F is: the IDE cannot create a new executable file Project1.
