While that is not a bad thing, Vanguard at least took a unique approach with World War 2 that brought in aspects not seen before. Sadly, much like with other Sledgehammer innovations such as Headquarters and customizable killstreaks, Operator leveling may never be seen again. Call of Duty Vanguard made camos, such as the heavily sought-after gold camo, hard to obtain. Vanguard did not offer a mechanic like this, opting instead for a more realistic style of movement but this limited mobility quite a bit. Beyond the removal of Operator levels and customization, the backstories for the characters have been a step-down. Modern Warfare 2 is overall a better game than Vanguard in almost every way. Although the newest Call of Duty game had a lot more time to cook than Vanguard and feels largely feature complete, it is still missing some rather specific elements and is buggy.
