When a student chooses to join a fraternity or sorority, they will join a chapter, and each chapter is governed by one council. At Clemson ifc, there are four councils each with a unique recruitment process. Students interested in participating in an Interfraternity Council fraternity or a Clemson Panhellenic Association sorority must complete the online registration process, which can be found on the specific council's website.

The mission of the Clemson University Interfraternity Council is to govern, to serve, to represent, and to promote, with the highest standard of integrity, its member fraternities. We exist as a resource to facilitate the growth and development of fraternity men in the areas of personal and fraternal responsibility, leadership, scholastic achievement, civic engagement, and brotherhood. The council fosters interaction and collaboration among its organizations through student development, social activities, community engagement and service initiatives. MGC is an umbrella council for 4 multicultural Greek-letter organizations. Our goal is to foster a unified multicultural community, to promote scholarship, service, respect, unity and cultural awareness. Be yourself and express yourself, clemson ifc, our members want to get to know who you are. Intramural activities are open to all students, but it is not uncommon for chapters to support multiple teams throughout the various tournaments hosted on campus.

Clemson fraternities and sororities are student led organizations that enhance the student experience inside and outside the classroom. We provide excellent leadership, scholarship, service and social opportunities and better prepare members to make significant contributions beyond the undergraduate experience. The Pillars of the Fraternity and Sorority Community Award recognizes fraternity and sorority alumni who have made significant contributions to Clemson University, their fraternity or sorority at the local, regional, or national level, their industry, or public service. During the spring semester, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life worked with the presidents of the fraternity and sorority governing councils and chapters to develop a long-term funding model that will be supported through a Fraternity and Sorority Life Fee. Currently, attending orientation is not required to join a MGC fraternity or sorority. Sorority life has many wonderful opportunities to offer all college women. Our members help create educational programs for the public, in addition to learning tools and skills necessary to excel in their career path and their daily lives. To build sisterhood, chapter members may meetup for fun activities like movie nights, service events, exercise classes and much more. We depend on the circle of influence of sorority women to accomplish this important work. Participating in these activities is a positive way to take a break from academics and get to know members of your chapter. What is a legacy? Sophomores, juniors and seniors, both continuing and transferring, are welcome to participate. While many potential new members enter their recruitment experience with one or a few chapters in mind, it is important to keep an open mind throughout the week. When organizations are planning to conduct Membership Intake, many of them will host an interest meeting in which the criteria for membership is explained. Students interested in a National Pan-Hellenic Council fraternity or sorority or a Multicultural Greek Council fraternity or sorority must also attend an orientation meeting hosted by these specific councils. Athletics prove to be important physical and mental outlets for students, helping improve self-confidence and develop teamwork. GirlUp GVL exists to serve under-resourced middle school and high school girls in Greenville, SC through experience, enrichment, and empowerment.
