The Camanachd Cup final is the pinnacle of the shinty season, camanachd cup, that coveted trophy that every team aims to take home, or indeed retain at home.

The Camanachd Association Challenge Cup known as the Camanachd Cup or less commonly the Scottish Cup is the premier competition in the sport of shinty. At present the tournament is contested by the eligible teams in North and South Division 1 and from , National Division One , together with the teams in the Premiership, who join the competition at the second round stage. The Valerie Fraser Trophy and the two cup finals form a showpiece event in the women's shinty calendar. The trophy has been played for since , when Lochaber defeated Strathglass in the final in the inaugural final. The following year Strathglass retained the trophy, this time beating Lovat 6—4 in the final. The final was an exciting affair. Bught Park in Inverness is celebrating years of hosting shinty's premier competition - the Camanachd Cup final. The contest goes back years, and the final was held at various locations before Bught became a regular venue in That year Furnace beat Newtonmore to lift the famous trophy. This weekend's big game will see Kingussie face Oban Camanachd. Spectators watch from a tree in a final from the early years of it regularly being held at Bught.

It is played on a knock-out basis by the teams in the National Division 1 League and is administered by the Women's Camanachd Association. The current holders are Skye Camanachd. The trophy was originally donated to the Camanachd Association in memory of Valerie Fraser. It was originally a trophy for male teams and it was won by Glenurquhart in The cup final was contested on 28 August at An Aird in Fort William between Skye Camanachd and Lochaber which meant a new name would be added to the list of winners as neither side had won the cup before. League Champions Skye were slight favourites but Lochaber won the day 4- 2, with all four of their goals coming from full-back turned forward Kirsty Delaney 6, 32, 67 and 76 mins. Lorna MacRae scored both the Skye goals 27, 74 mins.
