John has told me that this is his favorite top out of my Me-mades. I have to be extremely intentional about organization, especially as a freelancer, otherwise the moment I feel overly confident, everything falls into a crumpled pile on the floor. When I can build structure and organization into my life, I feel like Super Woman, like I can achieve anything and like none of the boxes on my to-do list are safe from being checked off. But often, and especially the last couple of years as I was moving back and forth between two continents, I built my structure and habits in a way that necessitated tearing it down again. And even before I started the madness of living alternately on both sides of an ocean, I was continuously making choices for myself that kept me from having a consistent, sturdy foundation. Can any of you relate? Do you have any tips or tricks on how best to manage your own self and time?

There are lots of designs that could see heavy rotation as wardrobe staples, nothing too crazy, and the Burda Plus section this month is totally drool worthy. As far as the regular sizes go, there are a few stand-outs among the dress selection, especially the dresses with the raglan sleeve contrast, as well as the fancier gown. The designer gown is lovely, except perhaps the odd flaps on either side of the front princess seam? The cowl necks are simple, but could be great layering pieces for fall:. Not loving the fabric, but I do like the style of the shirtdress. The jackets in this issue are pretty great as well. Love the long coat! It has a nice mix of a relaxed and formal vibe. For some reason I get a faint s feel from it. The tops this month provide a nice mix of comfy sweater-type looks and pieces that would be perfect for layering:.

I think Burda is on a roll lately, some really interesting and pretty dresses. I have done that with cutting the stretch going up and down instead of around - on a denim jacket. Now I always double check before cutting. This is so lovely Alison, very elegant! Thanks for sharing the details and pattern link. Lovely dress, the fit looks great and I love the neckline front and back. I've been put off the tracing from the magazine but a PDF I could cope with.
