MEMBERS of a community social media page have teamed up with local churches to launch an emergency response team amid the coronavirus crisis. Gill Jones and Carla Tellett, administrators of the Buckley Residents Group on Facebook, are collaborating with several churches in the town to provide the service and co-ordinate the community response to the crisis. The scheme sees local volunteers contact representatives of the Facebook group and the churches to offer their services, be it by collecting and delivering prescriptions or shopping for the elderly and vulnerable - many of whom are currently self-isolating amid coronavirus concerns. Explaining the scheme, Gill said: "We have about 7, people on the Buckley Residents Group - so it's a brilliant opportunity to organise a large scale community response to the crisis.
