The Switch was a phenomenon at launch and part of the reason why it succeeded so well out the gate was The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It was all fans could talk about. It was a portable game with home console-level quality that featured an open world that felt near endless. It was such an amazing game that fans couldn't wait for the sequel to come out, with this wait being positively agonizing for some players. Many concepts are better than other games in the Zelda series, which is a testament to just how much love and effort was put into this title.

LagoonTheCursed 8 months ago 4. Totk us just more for the sake of more. TotK is a lot more up my alley. BotW is a really chilled out explore about collecting stuff type of game while TotK has a lot more "meaty" content and said meat is of a dramatically higher quality.
Tulin may be an exception, but botw vs totk not act like Teba wasn't great. Link could look for Naydra near Mount Lanayru, but if he can't find her, then it's likely she's flying about the Depths, and vice versa. Aksnfiskwjfjsk ZD Legend.
Edited on Sun 3rd September, by Cia. Two big 'Agree's from me. Distinct loss of flow about the 'moment-to-moment gameplay' a phrase I'm convinced I coined on this site when discussing BotW years back and now see all over the gaming scene moving from BotW to TotK. My absolute love of BotW stemmed from the moment-to-moment gameplay and the beautiful, natural feeling world that Hyrule felt like. I was hoping TotK would build on the beauty and naturalness, adding more little details in flowers, trees, wildlife and the weather so it felt even more 'truly wild'. But instead TotK is a game that is uglier landscape-wise - full of uplift clutter etc and more artificial fusing and ascending - fun, but take things too far away from the nature-based forest folk Link heralds from. I like BotW more, so far at least, and probably forever, but I'd avoid saying one is better than the other.
Since Tears of the Kingdom is a direct sequel to Breath of the Wild and the game takes place in the same world, comparison videos were bound to be plenty, showcasing the differences between both titles. Let it be said that Tears of the Kingdom is a successful sequel to the already-acclaimed Breath of the Wild. Fans were hyped for more information when the teaser was dropped back at E3 Given the skyrocketing sales, it's safe to say that it lived up to the audience's expectations.

While Tears of the Kingdom brought back Temples and even Sages, certain gameplay mechanics, such as the Sages'' Vows, had some players missing Breath of the Wild. And even Ultrahand wasn't that bad after the beginning parts where you are learning about it and kind of are forced to create a raft to cross a lake. BotW had a really wonderful narrative about Zelda and her personal struggle to come to grips with her power and who she really is under the crushing weight of expectations, and all the well-intentioned but misdirected forces pushing them on her, like her father. Additionally, another Breath of the Wild power without a sufficient replacement is Stasis, which allowed players to temporarily freeze any physics-based object. Even Nintendo seemed to think that it could get annoying and slow things down, so they created the Autobuild ability to streamline and speed up the process I'm just making up that thought process on their part, but it seems logical. If you don't like it and think it slows things down, don't use it. In other cases, Link just needs to follow a green light to retrieve the Shrine's crystal. Still, if players looked at this game from a purely objective viewpoint, there's no denying that Tears of the Kingdom features several improvements over Breath of the Wild's formula that make it a far better game from a technical standpoint in the eyes of many. This is also where the flaws start to come in. Straight forward, not a very dramatic conclusion. Like in BOTW , shooting the dragons will provide players with rare dragon part materials that are needed for upgrading armors, certain quests, and in TOTK , fusing powerful weapons. Whereas BotW was a lonely adventure through a post-apocalyptic kingdom, TotK shows us what Hyrule can do when everyone comes together as one. BOTW to me was challenging since one can't duplicate?? Getting out of the cave in the first game to see the giant world before Link ranks up there as one of the coolest intros to a Zelda game let alone any game.

If you really want a terrible example, Beyond Two Souls is much worse than what was done here. Aksnfiskwjfjsk ZD Legend. The definitive timeline of events in the BotW-TotK universe! It also doesn't help that the Sages are quite large in stature sans Riju and Tulin. Just different, and I have a preference between those differences. I can see why people would prefer divine beasts for example, because the puzzling was much more thought out since you had to control the beast. It may not display this or other websites correctly. Developer s Nintendo. Hitting the object while frozen would then result in a buildup of force, which would be unleashed all at once at the end of the effect's duration. It feels like a spiritual sequel to Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts in terms of the oddball mechanics. BotW looks more beautiful than TotK. The Dragon Tears also gave some background to this version's Ganondorf, who was highly anticipated when TotK 's teaser dropped. Fuse feels like the half-hearted solution to the weapon durability problem that's not really needed when you can get them fully repaired via a combination of Pelison's shop and a rock octorok.
