This years Zelda Breath of the Wild made me realize how much I love well executed stylized looks in videogames!

So, this took about an hour to make, and surprisingly, I did this art with just some coloring pencils that I have, because I don't have high quality copic markers. By the way this is my first post in this amino so I hope you guys like it! It was a bit hard for me because I had to put pressure on the color pencils in order to make them give the right color and not some weird swamp juice color. After a new trailer for the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild dropped during E3, fan artists have been smitten with the new look for the hero Link. This includes one artist on Pixiv, who drew an absolutely stunning depiction of the Hero of the Wilds. The art is notable for its detail on Link's arm, which appears to be fairly accurate to the trailer. When Breath of the Wild 2 was first announced at E3 , fans were quick to notice a trail of green magic overtaking Link's arm. What exactly this magic would do was theorized heavily. The gameplay trailer revealed that, while it did deform Link's arm , it also gave him the ability to use new powers. While some of the powers are similar to the ones from the Sheikah Slate Stasis, for example , others appear to be brand-new for the sequel. The art shows Link in the new outfit shown off in the trailer, right arm on full display. It's fun to watch the trailer's consideration and analysis videos.

Dorkling 1 day ago. The grass is still missing a color texture but other than that I like where its going. Until now I mainly worked on realistic to hyper realistic environments but I thought Ill try something new and go for a BotW inspired look. Join the community. The cellshading on the characters is also similar to BotW with a strong outline thats broader and brighter in direct light accompanied by two tones separating light and shadow. I mix a small amount of AO back into the final result as I like to retain some of the shape to better blend dynamic objects with the background and am obviously not constrained by switch hardware This goes a bit against the "frame by frame animation"look that Zelda seems to be going for where dynamic objects are considerably less detailed than static backgrounds but I always thought that in BotW characters can look slightly out of place. Love it! Featured post Lily Daedo. Get App. It also has transmissive properties similar to those in BotW:.
