Boardman road bike comp
The chap i bought it from unfortunately did not have the original paperwork with all the spec details etc and i cannot for the life of me find the full details. Obviously to make the switch i need to know what BB type etc the bike has etc etc. It would also be a nice to know in terms of exactly what is what. For the moment i'm sticking with the Shimano Kit but may well be changing out some of the finishing kit again for personal preference but wonder if anyone either who has one of these has a copy or can get a copy of the spec sheets etc or give me a run down of everything. When it comes to the upgrading to SRAM, i will likely end up going 10 speed at least perhaps 11 speed if i can afford to. What components could i swap out in stages and have everything else continue to work and what would need to be done as a bulk job. Ideally i would like to stagger the bulk of upgrades when i can due to the cost and then perform the final changeover shifters, rear mech, cassette, rear hub etc as one final blow. If you like road. Boardman frames are available in four sizes that are based upon the effective horizontal top-tube dimension ranging from Shimano Tiagra is used on the Boardman, together with a rear mech that gives added value and while designed for a speed system, it works well across the 9-speed cassette. The Truvativ Elita two-piece compact chainset looks like it should be on a bike costing twice the price, although we would like to see the Comp also made available with a triple chainset. The Boardman saddle - made by Velo, was popular among the testers. The combined weight of the Boardman's tyres, cassette and Ritchey Comp wheels is just 2,g and they are the only wheels on bikes in this price group to use cartridge bearing hubs, which are generally better quality than traditional ball and cone bearings. The black spokes - 20 front and 24 rear - look good with their aerodynamic elliptical cross section, and remained perfectly true throughout testing. The Continental Ultra Sport tyres are of the cheaper steel-beaded type but the tread grips well wet or dry.

Hitting the scales at a very reasonable Some might prefer the more back-friendly position provided by a higher front end, but we found it perfectly comfortable. The Boardman may not have sensible additions like mounts for fitting mudguards or a rack, but it's a whole lot of fun — and, to us, that's what it's all about. The hourglass head tube is fairly short — mm on our large frame. Boardman spec a front mech and levers from the mid-level Tiagra groupset with a upgrade at the rear mech — great value on a bike of this price. Little gear indicators on the top are handy for riders with less experience, and you can get shims to adjust the levers inward if you struggle with reach.

Update to rs 11s, deda seatpost, short cage rear mech. Not that it is an issue as it has barely been ridden at all under 10 miles apparently, and looking at the parts it does seem to add up One other thing i have found since using the bike, the Tiagra shifters series i believe for the front seem to take 2 clicks to drop down, a single click up. Search Advanced search…. The shifters are the important change as they will be indexed for 11 speed. Still, with a T cassette at the rear, you should get up the climbs comfortably.
