For those out there that have been looking for receivers like I have. The best news that I can attest to is that He converts the receiver for the bolt stop to "Correct " way and does not modify the bolt stop to work like some others do. He also can do this conversion to use standard M14 mags if the cost BM59 mags are a turn off for you. If I had an aluminum sand casting bench setup I could make the legs for the bipod using the existing legs I have as patterns. The BM59 Bipods Gas Cylinder attachment block, leg pivot screws, clamp and clamp screws are nothing special and I already have made the drawings to machine them. After the first of January the barrel and the demountable QD Tri Comp were amomg my planed purchases from Reeses so that I could draw it in my CAD program and be able to machine copies. All I needed are samples. I prefer FAL Mag cheaper. Well, you must not have looked in the right place! You need to be a member in order to leave a comment. Sign up for a new account in our community. Hello guys, been a while since I posted but am still around. I have been working on something that is intended to help people understand the BM59 and what it is. I am looking for feedback, suggestions, and any input with a degree of authority on the subject. This is an ongoing work, and I will be posting revisions as I have time. It will also be posted on a couple of other boards, in an attempt to gain as much feedback and information as possible, Please feel free to make a critical appraisal of what I am composing, all information is helpful. For some time I have been working on an information package that would clarify the misinformation that is generally disseminated.

After the end of the Second World War, the US government supplied the former axis nation of Italy a number of M1 rifles to help rebuild their army. A few years later, NATO standardized the 7. Initially, the Italians decided to convert their existing stockpiles of M1s to the new caliber and modernize them, rather than produce whole new weapons. They machined the receivers to take a detachable magazine. Thus the BM59 was created. In the last few years, BM59 parts kits have been available in the US. However, suitable receivers have been a sticking point for potential builders.

Those should not be a problem. When I tried to put the trigger group back in, I can't make it fit because the bottom legs of the receiver are getting impinged enough to preclude the trigger guard lugs from traveling into the locking channels. I guess when I do see one I'll change my mind. I also have some very slight variations in my machine work that are not visible to the naked eye.

Warping is a huge danger with that method. James River Armory makes a new receiver for the BM They have blems with a hole under where the rear sight cover will go and what looks to be non-blems for the same price, with special instructions for ordering. I cant find a bipod or a QD muzzle device, I found a truck full of Unobtainium and the location of Fortress of Solitude and some BM 59 magazines other than that zilch. I worked on dual gate system this afternoon, and hopefully that will allow the guy who cuts our hay access, and when I add the barb wire fence up the hill to the grave yard above that part of our property- the fence and barb wire will stop sneaking into the range.
