Oils are currency items that can drop from Blight encounters. Using them on certain items gives these items an anointment , which can modify them in various ways. Oils can be applied by the player via Cassia , to Blighted maps , rings , amulets or blight unique items in order to add new modifiers or the effect of a passive skill :. Two additional oils, Tainted Oil and Reflective Oil which have additional drop requirements and special use. They gain the same passive skills that those oils would apply to an amulet. As an amulet, it is automatically eligible to be anointed.

Blight anoints
Oils and the ability to use them on certain items to get anointments on them have been added to the Blight league. This is a new type of currency items, which has 13 types tiers. In our Path of Exile Blight Oils and Anointing Guide, you can read everything you need to know about blight oils and how to use them. The rarest of them is Golden Oil. However, it is possible to get Oil a tier higher with the Vendor recipe — three units of oil for one vial of oil of the next tier.
