It hosts many mobs inside it, including the Black Knife Assassin who's concealed in a hidden chamber. Unsurprisingly, the Catacombs has a couple of puzzles to be solved, all of them leading to unseen Elden Ring locations. Usually, hidden areas in Elden Ring are prepared with rewards for the curious. Therefore, when exploring the Black Knife Catacombs, make sure to visit these places as they'll be worth the time. Players can find the Catacombs by riding on the eastern edge of the mountain.

It is an optional dungeon that is home to a few treasure items and a miniboss Foe. This page contains information on the location, walkthrough , and guide to traverse this dungeon, locate all of its treasure, and tips to defeat the enemies within. In northern Liurnia, just northeast of the Erdtree, you'll come across a path on the eastern side leading into a small canyon. Upon arrival, you'll encounter Lhutel the Headless, a spectral headless enemy with a flaming sword will be guarding the entryway. Riding circles around them with Torrent makes the fight relatively easy. Buried in the cliff face, you'll note the double doors to open leading down to a Site of Grace. Heading down the steps to the left of the Site of Grace, you'll encounter a Skeleton. As a rule of thumb, with these skeletons you will want to strike them once they go down as the blue light appears on their corpse , or else they will resurrect and require defeating again. At the bottom of the stairs, you'll encounter the locked doors and Summoning Pool. Root Resin is in the left-hand corner of the room. At the top of the stairs to the left is a Grave Glovewort 2 plant, and at the bottom is a Grave Violet plant. As you approach the bottom, two more skeletons will awaken, but you'll notice that trying to perform the strike whilst they're defeated won't work. That's due to the necromancer enemy with the staff who will come from further down the corridor.

The dreaded catacombs holds many skeletons that can revive until properly killed, but also holds the Black Knifeprint, a key item in a certain quest. The entrance to the catacombs can be found by heading north east from the Ruined Labyrinth Site of Grace , past the Minor Erdtree. The entrance is guarded by a Mausoleum Knight. The Black Knife Catacombs features many skeleton enemies and multiple moving guillotines throughout its chambers. The sewers are infested by crabs, with 2 giant crabs waiting for unsuspecting prey. This catacombs even has 2 bosses found in different rooms and with different loot, the Black Knife Assassin fight is not necessary for the player to advance through to find the lever that opens the doors to the Cemetery Shade fight. Many of the skeletons that are found in this Catacombs exhibit a strange behavior of rolling at the player, and attack quite rapidly.

From these bosses, two pieces of useful loot can also be obtained: the Assassin's Cerulean Dagger and the Twinsage Sorcerer Ashes. The Black Knife Catacombs will be familiar in structure to those who have already taken on the other catacombs dungeons in Liurna and Limgrave, with a few interesting twists. Firstly, this dungeon is guarded by an armored knight. Secondly, this dungeon is filled with standard skeleton enemies that can only be fully defeated by killing a nearby necromancer that is summoning them. Be aware that for this reason, there are lots of skeletons that will rise continually after being down until the nearby necromancer is defeated. As with the other dungeons, you'll be looking for a lever near a statue to progress to the final boss, the Cemetery Shade. Towards the end of the dungeon, however, an illusory wall can be unveiled to reveal a mist wall to another boss: the Black Knife Assassin. Beyond the site of grace, continue onwards and find the door between statues. You can take them out with ranged attacks first before you commit to rolling through. After descending the ladder, you'll be in a watery area.

While the skeleton raise themselves to no end, holy damage put them to rest for good. Head down the stairs for a Site of Grace and then left down more stairs. Once the room is clear, head west through the doorway to find a new room with yet another skeleton archer on the right who stands in front of a Grave Glovewort [3]. Used a holy weapon and an occult weapon and they just kept raising. To the left of the room, you'll note a ladder descending. By pulling the lever to open the metal gate another skeleton warrior will emerge next to you, so be ready to fight. Then use golden arrows to kill the ranged skellies at a distance no respawning. Carefully check the right wall and search for a small hole. Tip: those skeleton will not be re summoned if killed by holy pot even if there summoners are alive. One will open the locked doors at the beginning of the Catacombs, and the other opens the door of the metal gate, acting as a shortcut back. Submit Submit Close. The Shade doesn't have a massive health pool, so timing your strikes well and being aggressive is the best strategy. Players have to kill them immediately after the mob fall before they fully resurrect or they will keep resurrecting. Uhh, so.. D's summon sign didn't appear for me and I was able to fix it by progressing other things.
