It features 12 returning contestants from BFDI, along with 10 new contestants 6 of which were the recommended characters from the previous season , which were voted onto the show by the viewers. After Michael Huang announced that he and Cary were taking a break from BFDI due to difficulties juggling both production of the show and their schoolwork, BFDI went on hiatus for roughly 3 years, until the premiere of IDFB , a 3rd season, with its only episode so far, " Welcome Back ", releasing on September 1st, On September 1st, , the season saw an official revival with the release of " Well Rested ", exactly 10 years after the planned airdate of the unfinished 6th episode.

This season involves 20 anthropomorphic inanimate objects and later, one human [ BFDI18 ] who have known each other all their lives and are casually living together. But when the host, the Announcer , falls from the sky and tells everyone about the luxurious island known as Dream Island , competition sparks, and everyone begins battling each other for the island. In episode 1b, the 2nd part of the first episode, the Announcer divided the 20 contestants into two teams of the Squishy Cherries and the Squashy Grapes. The two teams competed in contests at the beginning of every month, and the Announcer put the losing team up for elimination—the elimination ceremony is known as " Cake at Stake ". The viewers then decided to eliminate someone between the 1st and 10th of every month. At the beginning of the next episode, the Announcer eliminates the most-voted contestant and sends them to the Tiny Loser Chamber.

It was released on Monday, December 18, Pin and Puffball are trying to block the doors to stop a zombified Barf Bag from getting inside the Hotel whilst Donut is panicking, shouting to seal the door up. Eraser , who is holding a green version of Pen's cap , tries to ask what happened. A flashback is presented as Golf Ball and Tennis Ball are inspecting an unconscious Barf Bag lying down on a table with everyone talking over one another. Golf Ball tells everyone to stop talking as Tennis Ball informs everyone that Barf Bag was unconscious because she lost her barf after falling into the water during last episode 's challenge. Tennis Ball continues saying that with Rocky 's elimination from last episode, the only source of vomit was inside the volcano. So, the only two options would be either to use the lava-infused vomit or to kill Barf Bag and recover her.
