Why am I subjected to the endless details of what exactly the characters are ordering in a Mexican restaurant, what the specials are, and how long it takes a waitress to bring the order? Why should I care? Why do I need to know the details of the bra design that the girls are shopping for? How exactly does that enrich the story? Please stop the filler.

The Hush, Hush quartet is a series of four novels by Becca Fitzpatrick that follow teenager Nora Grey as she falls in love with the fallen angel Patch and discovers her own angelic heritage. The series was initially promoted as a trilogy, [1] with later announcements stating that the series would comprise four books. Film rights to the series have been purchased by LD Entertainment and book rights have been sold in 13 countries. Nora Grey meets Patch Cipriano in her biology class. She finds herself drawn to him despite him initially trying to assassinate her, and despite her friends preferring that she date their friend Elliot, who is later revealed to be a pawn of the Nephilim Jules. Patch saves Nora from death multiple times because he realizes he has fallen in love with her. Even though Nora believes he is stalking her, she eventually gives in to her feelings for Patch after he reveals he is a fallen angel who is protecting her. Jules, also known by the name Chauncey Langeais, attempts to use Nora as a way to target Patch, but fails and is killed when Nora jumps off of a gym ceiling rafter and dies, severing the blood-related tie between Nora and him. She is brought back by Patch, who then becomes her guardian angel. In Crescendo , Nora finds that her relationship with Patch has hit a rough spot when he stops returning her calls and refuses to tell her that he loves her in his car when she admits her love for him. She is hurt when she discovers that Patch has been standing outside of rival girl named Marcie's window. Patch explains he cannot tell Nora he loves her because it would potentially send him to Hell. This prompts her to begin talking to Scott Parnell, an old friend and possible Nephilim, and use him to make Patch jealous. Nora becomes involved in a fight in the process and ends up firing Patch as her guardian angel. Through Scott she finds that a person called the Black Hand killed her father.

This book was awful. Do the doings of one randy duke in Sixteenth Century France really concern the later plot?

What's with the dropping of anvil-sized hints every few pages? What happened to simple foreshadowing? Trust me. Here's why:.

I was beyond prepared for this book. Honestly, I thought this was a great dark love story for teens. Well, forty nine, I suppose, since I use the little white backing thing too. Weird shit start to occur since that day and it's related to Patch, so, Nora wants to know why. Furthermore, the kidneys are pretty much right below the shoulder blades, not further out from them. I wish authors did. All this malarky with the iron pills. Join the discussion. At this rate I would fail. Except that Patch had cornered me in a dark tunnel and was possibly stalking me. Nora suspects everyone, and everyone does in fact seem to be a villain.

As I said before, I like douchenozzle heroes, so I didn't have a problem with Patch. Pictures of this in the e-Zine would be all the evidence I'd need to get the board of education to ax biology. Chen nods. Read Edit View history. I felt it pounding through my skin. She graduated college with a degree in health, which she promptly abandoned for storytelling. Heck yes. Her and Patch suit each other perfectly. They are a burden. But despite her fear, she never tells him NO. I just can't understand why Becca Fitzpatrick couldn't pick one Nora to write and stick with her. Patch goes beyond the simple term "bad boy" in that yes, he does actually mean Nora harm. It's like if you use a really great word once or twice it's going to stand out.
