Luka Redgrave is a secondary character in Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2. Nicknamed "Cheshire" by Bayonetta herself, he is a journalist and escape artist in relentless pursuit of the witch. He initially believes that Bayonetta is little more than a cold-blooded killer responsible for the death of his father Antonio and wishes to expose her secrets to the world at large. Luka has no combat skills as such, but he does however have a grappling hook and a good sense of timing and smell. In the first game, Luka is portrayed a tall, light skinned young man, shown to have shoulder length wavy brown hair, with its upper layer tied with two side bangs. He wears a white T-shirt and a formal sleeveless grey jacket on top, with a pair of glasses hanging on the front. He also wears an unbuttoned black jacket and dons a long blue scarf, with diagonal white and orange strips going down and fringe on both ends. Luka wears arm length gloves that appear to be made of leather and jackboots that reaches just below his knees. In the sequel, Luka has changed his attire to a more 'cowboy' themed style. He now has his hair loose, adorned a hat with a blue pattern around the circumference. The hat has two strings hanging on each side of the brim with two beads, blue and red on each. He wears a light grey shirt with elbow length sleeves, a V-neck T-shirt and black leather sleeveless jacket with leather fingerless gloves. He wears a scarf like before, but it is tucked into his shirt instead of hanging loose around his neck.

Bayonetta 3 announced its October release date in style with a three-and-a-half minute trailer focusing on both new and returning characters. The game, which will debut a full eight years after Bayonetta 2, features Bayonetta traveling the world to take on the Homunculi, a new man-made threat designed to drive humanity into greater chaos. While the witch herself sports a new outfit and hairstyle, as is traditional for each new Bayonetta game, several supporting characters also receive new looks. Among them is the journalist Luka, who in Bayonetta 3 sports an outfit that brings to mind a different character entirely: scheming villain Ardyn Izunia from Square Enix's Final Fantasy Luka's role in the trailer is minimal, as the primary focus is on Bayonetta and Viola, a new character who is aware of the threat of the Homunculi and teams up with the title character to stop them. Fan speculation has led to a number of theories about Viola, including that she may be from the future or that she may be another Umbral Witch besides Bayonetta and Jeanne. Luka and Viola are shown briefly interacting in the trailer, with the journalist appearing fascinated by the new girl. Fans wonder if Luka's new design is a deliberate reference to Final Fantasy 15, and whether it hints at what role Luka will play in the series' third game. Luka's new look in Bayonetta 3 has the escape artist donning a collared shirt, a vest, a long coat with a high collar, fingerless gloves, and a black hat similar to the one he wore in Bayonetta 2.
