Having lost count as to how many coats I had to apply on each wall, and not being truly satisfied with the finish every little bump, nick and scratch stands out I wonder, would I have needed fewer coats with a more expensice paint - therefore making it cost roughtly the same per square meter? Would a more exp ensive so presumable not so runny emulsion help fill the imperfections when it rolls on? As the old adage goes 'you get what you pay for' this is especially true when it comes to paint. It's a false economy buying cheaper value brands. Cheers Mr. Fingernails Can you recommend a good allrounder brand? The better brands have more pigment in them, so that fewer coats are required to give good coverage. Dulux trade paint has more pigment than the Dulux paint you get in the DIY sheds.
I'll never buy Dulux again and Valspar will be my preferred option.
