In my experience, photography is at its most exhilarating when it's done on the fly. My background is in street photography- I love spotting an individual in a crowd, or a spark of connection between strangers, avery leigh. I see wedding photography in avery leigh the same way. When I was little, I used to take our family photo album down from the shelf and flip straight to pictures of my parents' wedding day. I don't know how long I would spend staring at my mother in her long white dress, but I remember how beautiful she looked, and I hoped I would grow up to be just like her. That memory is never far from my mind when I'm photographing weddings. Each wedding is a link in a chain of family stories and traditions, and each photograph is a window into a moment, which, once captured, can be discovered and rediscovered by future generations. Sofia uses the Bulgarian lev as its currency, and the conversion is easy as hell to remember. The plural of lev is leva, because Bulgarian. The lev is pegged to the euro at 1 euro: 1. Basically, that means there are two leva to every 1 euro. And any other service, such as massage, nails, salon, etc. Credit cards are widely used in Sofia. Of all the jewels of Bulgarian tourism, Rila Monastery shines the brightest. This gorgeous Orthodox monastery is nestled in the pine-covered hills of the Rila Mountains, like a secret tucked away from the world. With jewel-toned paintings telling an incredibly complex story in panels adorning the walls of the church, to its beautiful arches painted joyfully, to the pared-down white monastic building surrounding the church at Rila Monastery: Rila Monastery impresses us more and more each time we visit… which is a lot!

Avery is so fun and easy to work with and she made me laugh a bunch. She never got in the way, but managed to capture all the important shots. We love our engagement photos SO much and we're really looking forward to our wedding day photos as well. She is also based in NYC Travel Specialists. Every step of the way was a pleasure and the photos are absolutely stunning. She was a true blessing. They aren't overly posed, stiff or cheesy which was very important to my husband and me.
