Thursday, May 13th, PM. I would like an att representative to address my concerns. I am considering switching from cable internet to ATT fiber. Thanks… I was hoping to get ATT to respond. If this is the case I will stay with cable. You can be assured that they will confirm what I told you. Just curious as to why you don't want to use the "pseudo bridge mode". Bridge mode does not terminate traffic at the gateway while ip pass through does. Both provide similar functionality, ip passthrough limits functionality and performance. Think of it as putting a toll gate up at the entrance to a highway… that is similar to using ip passthrough. When a gateway router is placed in bridge mode it becomes a layer two device. When it is not like when using ip pass through it is a lay 3 device.

It does have some processing to do remember, this is not a true bridge mode but that doesn't affect the Deco. With the BGW's firewall on, it still does not affect anything going to the Deco, just any traffic on devices that you might still connect to the BGW directly.

Thank you! It could be the reason why your internet isn't working. Wednesday, October 5th, PM. The network set up in the Cascaded Router section will be given all traffic that arrives from the Internet for that subnet block and the public subnet traffic from that address will be routed to the Internet. As it is you have separate networks, and if you go IP Passthrough, you'll still actually have separate networks the Gateway will still operate as a NATting router, just not for your Nest traffic. Appreciate your post. The IP Passthrough and Firewall settings work for me just as you set them. Start by visiting the Community How-To.
