Arrow season 3 episode 1

The Flash got off to a fantastic start with its series premiere last night, so I was curious to see how Arrow would follow it up with its own third season premiere. Since it's first episode was titled "The Calm", arrow season 3 episode 1, I honestly didn't expect much beyond a bit of catch-up with the cast and a setup for where the show will go this season. And that's pretty much what we got from the first 58 minutes, right up until that very last gut-wrenching moment which Arrow has become known for. As for how that surprising moment will impact the rest of the season, well we'll just have to wait and see.

With Felicity in his ear, Roy tries disarming the bomb, but runs into trouble when Felicity tells him to cut the yellow wire—there is no yellow wire.

Oliver Queen tries to have a life outside of being the Arrow. Chancellor is a staff writer covering TV and occasionally comics. He's still upset that Hugh Laurie never won an Emmy for House. Even Starling City itself gets in on the thematic action. Something happens at the end of the hour that has repercussions for everyone and will definitely redefine how one person conceives of his place in the world.
