Hi, I have 2 strings in a mixed struct.
String concatenation in Arduino is quite straightforward and also robust. However, it doesn't end with joining two strings. You can concatenate characters, and even integers and floats to strings Arduino converts the integers and floating-point numbers to string internally. Examples can be seen in the below code. As you can see, we've successfully concatenated a string with another string, a character, an integer and even a floating-point number. What this means that we can also concatenate the string with a function that outputs either a string, a character, an integer, or a floating-point number. Such tool is available in all higher languages I know. I don't think you helped much. On an Arduino, with no OS, and a very small amount of memory, such tools are for fools. Quit pissing away resources ab using the String class that way. We showed that by concatenating a string with the millis function. Also, more than 2 strings can be concatenated in one statement, as shown by the last example in the above code. We discourage bad practices. If you want to play with the big boys go over to the stm32 forum and hang out there. Point taken that the String class and concatenating strings in this way carries overhead that may be undesirable on limited resource machines. You might have to write more, but they save you SO much more memory than S trings. At least not on an Arduino which has very limited memory.
