Prime location looks fabulous, the Anglers Tavern stands imperiously alongside the mighty Maribyrnong river and covers a vast area. Downstairs, all new and modern with glistening polished timber aplenty, has two main areas- bistro and TAB no pokies with a wonderful bar servicing both areas. Grab a seat alongside the window when dining and enjoy the serenity of the river. The pub triumphs at the rear with its massive and new beer garden and maximises the views. Plenty of space, smart and comfortable, the time spent there will evaporate. On weekends the pub really goes into overdrive attracting people from near and far.

With the interior mainly concerned with bistro and TAB operations, the key to the Anglers Tavern is the large outdoor area, which can go ballistic on hot summer days with its fantastic views of the river. There's actually a small public bar downstairs to the left, offering all the smoke filled comforts and clinking of pot glasses that many cherish. Head through the front door, however, and you enter a territory of function and bistro areas - perfect for the family or romantic night out. A special Oyster Bar serves beer with oysters and features records for most dozens eaten - a list which oddly enough Merv Hughes kept popping up on. Being the megacomplex that it is, there is always some life here. Make sure to reserve that table on the weekends if dining. The Anglers Tavern has a massive beer garden running off the main area, half of which is covered and heated if necessary meaning it is still good value in winter. Friday nights and Sunday afternoons are particularly popular. Simply fantastic in the summer, often with bands and the like.

Pdd holdings

Soo busy but service was quick. Great staff. The riverside location is nice but the building is old. Highly recommend for your next function. Great for seniors meals. Gorgeous outdoor area which is sheltered from the wind and has cover from the sun in parts. The music selection did not match with the lunch time and you have to wait around 30min for the meals. Anglers is a great joint for a cheeky feed of pub grub. Great wedges. We were very happy with our Christmas luncheon in the Riverside Room last year.

Live music too. Soo busy but service was quick. The fresh quinoa salad is yummy. Highly recommend for your next function. Food on the otherhand was an overpriced bad Pub meal. Only problem is it is noisy but that is just because it is so popular. Service was great, atmosphere was great. Has daily specials for lunch, worth the trip. Thumbs up from me. Looks like it's been recently renovated.
