Luffy is the protagonist of One Piece and certainly the most incredible character written by Oda. With the aim of becoming the Pirate King, Luffy set sail towards the Grand Line and, over the years, he has done quite well for himself, recently being recognized as one of the Yonko of the Sea. Luffy has advanced quite a lot in terms of strength and much of that is down to the many transformations that he has gained over time. While nearly all of his transformations are iconic, some hold more importance than others, and, thus, are more beloved among the fans. This transformation saw the various victims of Moria put around shadows inside Luffy's body. As a result, Luffy grew tremendously in terms of power. He also changed quite a lot in terms of appearance and received a very gothic look, resembling Frankenstein. In terms of power, Luffy grew to a point where he could easily stop Oars's punches with a single hand. He could even defeat Oars on his own and that alone makes this transformation extremely overpowered. Gear Third is one of the many Gears that Luffy has developed, thanks to his incredible mastery of his Devil Fruit. This gear sees Luffy inflate his bones by biting into his thumb directly. The inflation leads to his body becoming akin to that of a giant and the power that he generates with this Gear is absolutely immense. In fact, a single punch from Gear 3rd was strong enough to make Rob Lucci nearly lose consciousness.
The majority of attacks miss him because of his increased defense.

Whether you're a long-time anime fan an or an anime newcomer, there is no way you haven't heard of "One Piece," a manga and anime by creator Eiichiro Oda that aired its one thousandth episode in and has kept on trucking. Even with so much story on the books, it feels like tons of potential tales remain. At the heart of this saga is our hero, Luffy, a young man who initially travels the world in his ship the Going Merry, and then the Thousand Sunny when the Going Merry is finally retired. Along with his crew, Luffy is inspired by his hero, Red-Haired Shanks, and dreams of one day becoming the greatest pirate ever to live. The key to this accomplishment? Obtaining the mythical One Piece, a treasure of untold value. And did we mention Luffy is made out of rubber? The magical world that Luffy inhabits is also home to a rare item known as the Devil Fruit, which he unknowingly consumes only to see his body transform. As the series progresses, he discovers that he can change forms and take on new powersets depending on how he channels these gifts. Naturally, as an adventurous pirate traveling the globe, there is plenty of room for conflict along the way, and the series delights in creating exciting fight scenes in which Luffy utilizes his powers in interesting and unexpected new ways.

These inflated body parts can cause enormous amounts of damage; they can easily demolish big buildings and steel doors. Luffy possesses, and it proves to be crucial in his fight against Charlotte Katakuri of the Big Mom Pirates. Even Charlotte Cracker, a pirate worth million berries, could not penetrate its defenses and was sent flying, being defeated in a single blow. The inflation leads to his body becoming akin to that of a giant and the power that he generates with this Gear is absolutely immense. The form is so intense that all his sweat starts evaporating from his body as if it was steaming, but as time goes by, Luffy slowly learns how to achieve this state with little effort. However, some of these transformations are clearly more powerful than others, especially following the events of the Wano Country Arc. Whether he can access Tankman without overeating or not remains to be seen. When taking this transformation, Luffy's heart starts to beat like drums, and Zunesha calls this heartbeat the Drums of Liberation. Luffy, whose Gear 5 form trumps all the forms that he has previously used throughout One Piece. He aims to conquer the Grand Line, find Gol D. However, Water Luffy is merely an improvised, specialized form that only means something when fighting Sir Crocodile, so it ranks low among Luffy's many forms. Luffy has advanced quite a lot in terms of strength and much of that is down to the many transformations that he has gained over time. This is actually Luffy's go-to transformation when it comes to Gear Fourth. In fact, a single punch from Gear 3rd was strong enough to make Rob Lucci nearly lose consciousness. As these Gears accumulate over time, the young pirate gains more power to defeat some of the most formidable foes both on land and at sea. Snakeman is another form of Gear 4th that Luffy developed to counter extremely nimble fighters as well as great users of Observation Haki. Admittedly, this strength may feel like plot armor at times, but it still plays a vital role in Luffy's development as a rubbery action hero. Roger's legendary treasure, and become the King of the Pirates, but in order to do so, the Straw Hat Pirate will need to grow to become powerful enough to defeat any opponent that stands in his way. Another incredible Gear 4th transformation that Luffy developed during the 2-year timeskip is Boundman, also known as Bounceman.
