Aldi moisture meter

By harry. My old one needed manual calibration every time it was used, but had a aldi moisture meter and hold button. This new one auto-calibrates at switch on, but seems to lack a hold button.

Just had our stove installed so reluctantly bought a net of firewood from the petrol station to try it out. Measured on freshly split pieces. Wondering if the tree was dead before felling which could account for dryness? Coincidentally I went down to my log pile this morning with a cup of coffee, an axe and my moisture meter. If you want to test your meter you can do a series of experiments using a kitchen scale and an oven at 60dgrees ish. Will dig out the instructions as it has a calibration thing in the cap a resistor I think!

I bought one 3 years ago primarily to check the moisture content of firewood, it's still working on the original batteries. Well recommended. If you don't swear when you're driving, you're not paying attention! I like children but can't eat a whole one. If you can't say something nice, don't say anything! Don't call me an idiot, I would take it as a compliment. Not all my ducks are in a row, some are missing and I think one is a pigeon. I know my place, under my wife's thumb!

You also need to make sure in cold weather, that there is no condensed moisture on the surfaces you are testing. They are design to measure moisture content of material, it matters not at all whether it is wood, plaster of a caravan framing. Advice please to caravan touring newbees.
