Akira fudo
This is a show for grown-ups. Long story short, it was a brilliant movie about horrible people.
A shy teenager living in Japan while his parents work abroad, Akira absorbs the powers of the devil Amon thanks to his friend Ryo Asuka. The character also appears in the multiple anime adaptations of the series, though his role differs based on media. The spin-off Amon: The Darkside of the Devilman tells an alternate story of when Akira's body is taken over by Amon after losing his humanity. Akira was created by Nagai following Toei Animation 's approach of creating anti-heroes similar to the recently-cancelled manga Demon Lord Dante. Nagai aimed in his take of the Devilman to portray the suffering of a demon, though focused more on the chaos of wars during the climax. Devilman Crybaby director Masaaki Yuasa was inspired to show a kinder take on Akira, and his intimate relationship between Ryo and Miki Makimura as a love triangle based on the impact the first reading Nagai's manga had on the director.

Originally passive and cowardly, but very good natured, thanks to the efforts of Ryo Asuka he is possessed by the demon hero Amon. But due to Akira's pure heart he gains the demon's powers, memories, bravery, strength, and willingness to fight while maintaining his human consciousness. Now a creature with the body of a demon but the mind of a human, Akira swears to protect his former people against the hordes of demons that seek to destroy humanity. Akira was born as the only son to his parents. Due to his sensitive nature, as a child, he was nicknamed the "Fire Alarm of Higashi Elementary" for how much he cried. When his parents leave Japan to work abroad, Akira had to transfer to a new school and is sent to live with his father's friend Kozo Makimura. Akira quickly becomes friends with Kozo's daughter Miki and develops a sibling like relationship with her. At some point previously, Akira had met Ryo Asuka and became best friends with him before Ryo moved away. But this was later revealed to be a fake memory implanted by Psycho Jenny. Akira is a teenager of average height and weight approx. Like many male Go Nagai characters, he has prominent sideburns. After his first transformation into Devilman, standing about 6'1" and weighing lbs, his build changes from average to more athletic, and black markings form under his eyes as a result of Amon's influence. He is often seen dressed in his school uniform but also wears a black long sleeve shirt, pants, and shoes in other situations. As Devilman, his hair changes into small black bat wings on each side of his head. His forehead extending to his crown turns red and grows a pair of antennae.
The anime adaptation Devilman Crybaby provided a different portrayal of Akira which akira fudo discussed by the media. Once on solid ground, she encounters Akira but not recognizing him from earlier.
Once a regular human, he gained the power of the demon Amon after being inducted into a Sabbath ritual organized by his best friend Ryo Asuka. Akira was originally a weak, young boy with an average build for a teenager. He was rather scrawny with brown hair which possessed a small tuft near the back. After he first transformed into Devilman, his human form became lean yet sturdy, accompanied with dark eyeliner and black, messy hair. He also grew noticeably taller with a notable cleft chin.
Fear runs rampant throughout Tokyo with the revelation that demons in fact exist amongst us. Paranoia and the darker side of humanity boils onto the streets as people turn on one another, suspecting that anyone could in fact be a demon hiding in human appearance. Amidst the growing tensions, tragedy strikes Akira causing his mind to snap. Retreating into his subconsciousness, this allows his devilish alter-ego Amon to break free from Akira's cage of flesh and wreak havoc on both humans and demons alike. Amon: The Darkside of the Devilman is an alternate setting to the last chapters of the original Devilman manga. Where in the original, Devilman faces Satan after seeing his slain lover Miki Makimura's severed head, Amon sees Akira lose control of himself, and due to his sadness and depression from not being able to protect Miki, allows Amon to gain control of Akira and his powers again. The manga was originally published in the Kodansha 's Magazine Z , from August issue to April issue. On May 24, , a loose adaptation of the first volume of Amon: The Darkside of the Devilman was released. Being based on volume 1 of the manga no other volumes were released at the time , it is much shorter than the manga, and branches off in an entirely different direction shortly after Amon gains control of Akira Fudo at the end of volume 1.
