Boarding was a very smooth and civilised process, with business class and star alliance gold called first. My first impressions of the cabin, upon boarding, were great. The slightly grey colour will probably age better than a pure white and gives the feeling of a cool, snowy, Canadian landscape. The main, immediately noticeable difference between this and the Qatar Dreamliner is the degree of privacy offered by AC. The cabin was only around half full and plenty of people were taking pics, the crew were quite relaxed as they had plenty of time to deal with the light load, letting us all get the snaps we needed before take off. There was nobody sat in seat 1K until a couple of minutes before the doors shut, so I took the opportunity to photograph it. I had avoided this seat as I thought I might be disturbed by the galley but in reality it is set quite far back and would have been absolutely fine.

The safety cards and magazine are instead located under the main countertop, alongside a small storage dish. Close, but not quite. In general, well worth the seats for such a long flight.

Legroom-wise, the Economy pitch of 76cm " is average, the Premium economy pitch of 97cm 38" is average, the Business class pitch of cm 50" is average, though of course what that means for you depends on how tall you are! First of all even though we are at the end of August on all the plane there were only the July issues quite dirty and deterioreted. I really like how much flexibility is built into the offering. Despite the extra legroom, this is a bad seat - lots of traffic and smells from bathroom. From a cross-continent viewpoint, it is a great seat. Flat Bed Business Rows Economy Class is equipped with 2 ports for every three seats. Also I was disappointed by the tinted windows - flew for 15 hours and never once could see out. Seat Guru gives a red caution. Comfortable seat. A large salad served alongside three chilled prawns with fennel, orange, pickled onion and horseradish and celeriac puree. The bed I felt was narrow, and tapers towards your feet which does not allow much freedom for your feet if you like to reposition them while sleeping. Also, the aisle jogs and narrows from Premium Economy at that point, which means that everybody boarding and passing by during the flight bumps into the person sitting in 18C.

I paid extra for 18C. I was extremely impressed with the bedding that greeted me at my seat. Recliner Premium Economy Rows The plane was so quiet that the noise levels on take off were the same as a normal plane in cruise. If you have luggage to stow, board early or else the space above your seat will be taken, since there is none above the centre seats. Seat 18 D is an Economy Class Bulkhead seat with extra legroom. If you're trying to sleep you might be mildly annoyed at flashes of light coming from other passengers' ift screens. An enhanced meal is offered in Business Class. There was nobody sat in seat 1K until a couple of minutes before the doors shut, so I took the opportunity to photograph it. Seat may feel confining, especially when passenger in front reclines. These are the worst seats I have ever flown in. For a 5 hour flight, service was excellent, with multiple drink services.
