I know the place can be covered with a and smaller equipment, but that is full time and no off farm job, where I am working full time and want to be able to farm it after hours. Saw some 's on www. Basically a field tractor only run things like disc mower conditioner, round baler, conventional tillage i. I would likely only put about hours a year tops on it as the smaller tractor would still do loader work, seeding, raking, tedding etc. I don't mind an unsyncroed box, just as long as it is shiftable. We have a rops with 2 remotes, TA 2 wd. It also pulls our 6 row plate planter. I love to run that tractor since its comfortable, easy to get on and off and has good power. I did get into trouble since we farm hills and I was mowing turning up hill. I had to lift the mower a bit, the gear shift fell over its powershift inbetween consecutive gears so the tractor bogged down with the load. I have a cabless, with hrs on it. I bought it a year ago, and used it last year on my 6 row and cultivator. I don't know if the electric shift TA improves TA life, but I do know that it gets used alot more, cause when you shift through the gears it is constantly shifting, everytime you move the lever back and forth. Personally I like the 86 series shift better, but that's just me. The German engine is the quietest and most fuel efficient engine ever put in a red tractor, you will like the engine.
