He saw a man run east-northeast from the scene, and was the first to find Officer Pearson lying in a grassy area with that gunshot wound to his head. The jury saw pictures of Pearson lying on the ground surrounded by his fellow officers. If convicted, Hagood could spend the rest of his life in prison.
