In this review, a2a simulations, we take a look at A2A Simulations' a2a simulations anticipated Comanche for Microsoft Flight Simulator and see how it measures up. Scott kindly agreed to talk to us about their upcoming Piper Comanche and we also get his thoughts on the latest version of Microsoft Flight Simulator. We reached out to Scott Gentile from A2A Simulations to find out what the company has been working on recently, a2a simulations, as well as discuss future projects in the pipeline. In part 1, we focus on A2A's flight simulation work in the commercial world of aviation.
We are so very happy to say, we have succeeded in everything we set out to do. Perhaps the biggest dream and challenge was to create a new aerodynamics system that allowed us to model how an airplane flies through the air. Nobody has done anything like this before. I decided early on the first airplane we had to simulate with Accu-Sim 2. It feels like a nice pair of shoes that are perfectly broken in yet still look good. During development I was continuously asking questions without acceptable answers, and our Comanche gave us every answer we asked.

I would be remiss not to start my review with a quick introduction of what exactly A2A Simulations represents in our world as virtual pilots. For the uninitiated, A2A Simulations have historically been known by many as the pinnacle of general aviation aircraft add-ons. Started by Scott Gentile back in in the Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator space, the A2A team has since grown to be a team of programmers and enthusiasts hell-bent on creating aircraft that feel as alive as the real airplanes that they represent. I completed each leg with no hassle. However , it turns out that it takes more than just a few flights to squeeze all the juice out of this proverbial lemon. In line with most other payware add-ons, the installation was an absolute breeze. I purchased it the moment I woke up to the news that it was released and had it installed in 15 minutes. On to the setup options, which by all intents and purposes is pretty dang cool. There is a plethora of options within the tablet to customize your product experience which add function and panache, making the aircraft truly yours. You can select cockpit persistence which means that each button and knob is in the exact position you left them on your previous outing. I personally have that option selected as I love to be reminded of my inability to appropriately apply the checklist procedures on shutdown.

It will be released this month. This remarkable add-on aircraft is the product of cutting-edge technology and years of meticulous research, setting a new standard for flight simulation fidelity. At the core of the Accu-Sim Comanche is the brand new external aerodynamics engine, powered by Accu-Sim 2. A2A Simulations took their real-world Comanche , NP, and meticulously recorded its behavior over many years, resulting in unparalleled accuracy. A2A Simulations has invested extensive effort into the flight testing of the Accu-Sim Comanche , resulting in an aircraft that feels authentic and true to life. The handling characteristics and trim behavior have been fine-tuned to perfection, ensuring a seamless and immersive flight experience. The Lycoming OA engine is at the heart of the Comanche , and A2A Simulations has taken the simulation of this powerplant to the next level.
One such developer who has been surprisingly absent for some time is A2A Simulations. We have known for a while that Scott and his team are hard at work on bringing the Comanche to Microsoft Flight Simulato r. Other than some tidbits here and there , news has been fairly sparse from the team. However, a recent interview with Key. Aero Paywall shares some new information and the first in-sim screenshot of the plane in Microsoft Flight Simulator. The first part, already published, focuses more on the commercial projects that A2A Simulations has been involved with as of late. The second part focuses more on the products of the future, but Scott could not hold himself from mentioning their current work in MSFS. We also hope to bring some other old favourites into the new sim, and we have one-or-two other completely new Accu-Sim aircraft in early stages of development too.

After three years of dedicated work and plenty of secrecy, A2A Simulations has released today the much-anticipated Accu-Sim Comanche for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The Comanche is the first aircraft to be simulated with Accu-Sim 2. The new aircraft promises an immersive flight simulation experience like no other. It employs a brand-new external aerodynamics engine designed with Accu-Sim 2. The visual experience is also impressive, with beautifully rendered external and internal modeling, dynamic aircraft registration decals, and advanced animations. The Comanche also features a complete physics-based per-cylinder simulation of the Lycoming OA internal combustion engine, a dynamic ground physics feature, an advanced turbulence system, and a sophisticated airframe vibration physics system. It also boasts an authentic fuel system, a custom oil system, and an advanced engine starter simulation. A2A Simulations recently published a video featuring Gentile, who provides an in-depth analysis of engine management , specifically addressing the power-to-RPM relationship and optimal mixture settings. He also demonstrates the efficiency of low RPM cruising and how minor changes in RPM can significantly influence fuel efficiency, engine temperature, and overall wear and tear in the engine. Despite the exhaustive list of features , A2A assures that the Comanche will have fluid in-sim performance comparable with default aircraft of the same class.

You really have to experience it to believe it. Nobody has done anything like this before. The fuel system accurately replicates fuel lines, primers, strainers, and even fuel contamination. The PA Comanche is a single-engine, low-wing airplane with four seats, designed and built by Piper Aircraft in the mids, with multiple variants produced over its many years in production. A2A's Comanche was the second variant to be released, coming out only one year after the original - hp - model.

I pulled the mixture slowly until the point when I heard and saw the aircraft stutter and proceeded to push the mixture back in just enough to have the engine humming happily again. On my flight down the coast of Florida, I thought it would be fun to fly a little lower into more turbulent air. When flaring for touchdown, it feels like I hit a cushion of air, reducing my rate of descent, and causing me to float just a little longer than expected. I will say though that one thing I particularly enjoy is the different internal trim options depending on the airframe you select.
