What brand ns-2 cvt fluid should i get? Valvoline is almost half the price as OEM Nissan ns-2 fluid Idemitsu and Castrol also have ns-2 fluid and are also around half the price of OEM is there really a difference? I will also be replacing the transmission oil filter when I change the fluid. Im looking around on amazon and most of the reviews for the Castrol transmax cvt fluid are pretty positive compared to the other brands.

Is this true? My feeling is if you are asking that kind of question on a forum than you should have it done by the Nissan dealer so you will get the proper fluids and done correctly. The vehicle is now 8 years old and if it is working fine I would not mess with myself. Really on a CVT it needs to be changed by the dealer or at least a good shop and every 30K. Considering about half of that was for the fluids, its really not that bad. Thats the way I used to do it on my old Acura with no dipstick, but some like my Pontiac have to be in the air and filled with a pump. The cause would be never having changed it to begin with.
